WLW Meeting 12/05/2015

WLW Meeting 12/05/2015Tonight saw a great turn out of eight people as we returned to our usual format after the visit of David Bishop last time.

This Week’s News

There is only one place we can start this week. Eric will be launching his first novel A Clear Solution at Bathgate Regal Theatre on Saturday the 23rd of May at 7.30pm. You can find more information about the launch here.

In other news there is one place left at our Presentation workshop on the 21st of June which is also at the Bathgate Regal. The workshop will cost £20 for the day, which includes lunch, and is aimed and more exercised writers.

For our less experienced members we are looking to hold a workshop later this year which will look at the basics of story telling, such as character, descriptions, plot etc. This is an additional workshop to our Inspired by West Lothian Workshop we are also organising. As soon as we have any more information on either workshop we’ll tell you.

Finally, our chair Stephen has been re-developing his own website which includes all his writing. You can find his website with its new design here.

This Week’s Writing

  • Elderly Befriender – the first half of a short story by Susi. Alice goes along to an elderly befriending event where things don’t go to plan
  • Bus Stop – the opening of a new story from Chris about a man and woman’s brief encounter at the bus stop each morning
  • [untitled] – the first two chapters of Sally’s children’s book about Jack and his friends playing around their house.
