WLW Meeting 07/07/2015

Tonight’s meeting saw a turn out of seven people to hear some great writing and some interesting discussions about the work that was presented. First however, let’s start with the news!

This Week’s News

Submissions to our second anthology is now open. You can find more information here!

Our next workshop will be taking place on the 22nd of August in the East Barn of Nether Dechmont Farm. We’ve invited Janis Mackay back to look at the basics of creative writing such as creating characters, plots, description and point of view. You can sign up now and it’ll cost £20 for the day.

At the meeting we received a letter from Mslexia to say that their 2015 novel competition is now open. You can find out more information about it here. Other competitions mentioned at our meeting is Luminous Creatures’ Flash Fiction Competition that takes place every Thursday and Flash! Friday’s Flash Fiction Comp that takes place every Friday.

Finally as the next meeting takes place on Ernest Hemmingway’s 116th birthday we thought we’d celebrate this fact by asking people to bring along their own six word stories. We’ll be publishing a writing advice article on the topic later this week.
