Recently our member, Jenifer Harley, has been working tirelessly within the Federation of Writers Scotland to produce their new work – the anthology High Tide. Consequently, it launched beautifully at the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh on 2 November 2019.
As a result of the team’s efforts, High Tide is a beautiful book inside and out. It has a dynamic cover in a peachy finish and spot vinyl on the words of the title.
The Federations previous Maker, Marjorie Lotfi Gill, wrote “These poems and stories renew our belief in the magic of the everyday… a child’s star brought down from the heavens in a public square, or the art in a car garage… There are so many glittering stars to choose from in High Tide. It’s a collection of work we’ll all return to again and again.”
In a very short space of time, Curriesprint of Broxburn produced the book perfectly. The printers even gifted the Federation extra copies of High Tide. The federation chose to distributed these copies to the charities – Streetreads, St Columba’s Hospice, the Maggie’s Centre in Edinburgh. More copies of High Tide will be given out in Glasgow, Falkirk and Aberdeen as well as a charity Marjorie has set up, Open Book.
If you’d like to read more, High Tide is available here for £10 each plus postage.
Jenifer does not have any writing it the anthology. She was responsible for production and distribution so felt this was a conflict of interest.
