Inspired by Art Writing Exercise

If you are bored this Friday why not try out this inspired by art writing exercise made possible by one of our members Chris. The idea is simple. Set yourself an amount of time – we suggest somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes – and select a picture from the ones below the break and get writing whether it is prose, poetry, script or whatever. The point of the exercise is to write.

We have five pictures in total all provided by Chris, which can be seen below.

Once you have tried the exercise (maybe you’ll create a story or poem for each picture!) why not bring the story along to our next meeting and show us what you have done. We’d love to hear it.

To show you how successful this exercise can be our chair Stephen got the story he created from this exercise published on The Puffin Review. It is called A Mother’s Love?┬áIf you would like to read more about his story check out his website, The Red Fleece, to read his thoughts on his work.
