This week’s meeting had a couple of unplanned themes with almost every piece discussing childhood and religion. Thirteen people turned up for the wonderful writing including the return of John who we hadn’t seen in a while.
Due to our location at Linlithgow Canal Centre a lot of our writing at From The Blank Page To The Written Word focused on nature and the world around us. With this in mind we thought we should share from of the exercises Janis Mackay used that day, along with a few articles we found on some great writing websites to help you Write Poems About Nature.
This week saw a great turn out of 10 people including the return of Susi – our former secretary who hasn’t been along to one of our meetings for a while. Welcome back Susi!
This Week’s News
Thank you to everyone who came along to our From A Blank Page to the Written Word Workshop on Sunday. It was a great day. We’ll be holding a second workshop on the 6th of September so put the date in your diary now!
One thing that came up on Sunday was a mention of the Scottish Book Trust‘s Scotland’s Stories of Home competition. In less than a 1000 words they want you to write about your memories of home. The competition closes on the 30th of June. You can find all the information you need about Scotland’s Stories of Home by clicking here.
